Mexican packaging company Grupo Gondi has invested in Bobst F&K 90SIX CI preprint flexo press and peripherals from Bobst Bielefeld, which will be used for preprinted linerboard and coated boxboard applications.
According to Bobst, the 2.2 m wide central impression flexo press features similar technologies as the company's compact presses for flexible packaging and delivers printed images at speeds up to 500 m/min.
The 90SIX CI press has carbon fiber mandrels and auxiliary equipment that allow for better change-overs, even with the repeats of up to 2'060mm and the widest working widths. It can also print on lighter weight papers and reduce the production costs significantly.
Grupo Gondi has also purchased Bobst's new technology smartGPS for impression and registration setting, together with the new press.
The technology allows to set-up offline during mounting stage and helps in cutting down waste of substrate and time close to zero.
