Japanese carmaker Mazda motor has launched the upgraded version of its Roadster sports car also known as MX-5 for the Japanese market.
The new two-seater Roadster is offered in Retractable Hard Top and Soft Top versions which are powered by MZR2.0litre (2000DOHC)engine and mated to either 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT or 6-speed EC-AT transmissions.
According to the carmaker, features of the updated Roadster include an Active Bonnet, which is pedestrian protection system that lifts the rear end of the bonnet during accidents to lessen the impact to the head.
The carmaker has also upgraded the throttle and brake booster (power braking device), which have enhanced control of the accelerator in the manual transmission versions and their brakes.
Mazda said that the Soft Top model of the Roadster is available in Japan at a price range between $29, 171 (JPY 2,330, 000) and $32,552 (JPY 2,600,000), while the price range for the Power Retractable Hard Top (RHT) variant is between $ 33,553 (JPY 2,680,000)and $ 36,558 (JPY2,920,000).
